Healthtech Provider Zivver Strikes Gold with New NHS Customer

"Crucially, Zivver provides advanced encryption technology and real time prevention of everyday human errors – such as accidentally sending information to the wrong person – via machine learning."

Communication solutions and healthtech provider Zivver is all a-quiver as it has announced West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (WSFT) as a new customer.

Amsterdam-based Zivver (which is Dutch for ‘silver’) has shown its mettle as it will help WSFT’s staff and patients share healthcare information, and prevent human error data leaks.

Liam McLaughlin, CIO at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, comments: “We’re rolling out Zivver across our organisation, making it as easy as possible for our clinical and support staff to secure the data we share via email and file transfer. Crucially, Zivver provides advanced encryption technology and real time prevention of everyday human errors – such as accidentally sending information to the wrong person – via machine learning. Especially when dealing with sensitive health data, getting this wrong can be very serious, and Zivver helps us to achieve our data protection objectives with confidence.”

Zivver says it was chosen by WSFT as part of a switch from NHS Mail, opting to use Microsoft 365 Outlook for email instead. This switch required WSFT to obtain accreditation proving that its new email system meets the NHS Digital secure digital standard. WSFT assessed the market and Zivver “came out on top”.

According to Zivver, it will be used by around 4,800 staff at WSFT, as well as by patients from a population of around 280,000 people who live in West Suffolk.

Zivver was founded in 2015. It works by adding a security and privacy layer on top of existing email systems, such as Outlook (Desktop and Microsoft 365) and Gmail.

The firm has over 160 employees and over 4,000 clients across financial services, local government, healthcare and central government.

Customers include hospitals in Belgium and Germany; Nationale-Nederlanden in the finance sector; and insolvency practitioners and business recovery company Ashcrofts in the UK.

In June, Zivver announced three new executives joined the company – Adam Low as Chief Technology Officer (CTO); Adnan Erriade as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO); and Robert Fleming as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). All three are based in the UK, described as “one of the world’s prime SaaS B2B markets”.

At that time, Zivver said the UK was its “hub for international growth, supporting customers and prospects nationwide, as well as in North America and throughout mainland Europe”.
