Sales Intelligence Platform Cognism Buys French Firm Kaspr

Sales prospecting provider Kaspr was founded four years ago and has around 1,500 customers and 50,000 users serviced by a team of 14 employees. A notable customer is HubSpot.

Cognism is looking to rendez-vous with the French market via the acquisition of Paris-based sales prospecting provider Kaspr for an undisclosed sum.

According to London-based Cognism, Kaspr’s entry-level sales intelligence solution deepens its expertise and database, and expands its team with local knowledge, allowing the company to target earlier stage businesses and individual contributors.

Kaspr was founded four years ago and has around 1,500 customers and 50,000 users serviced by a team of 14 employees. A notable customer is HubSpot.

It seems jobs are safe as James Isilay, CEO of Cognism, explains: “We’re looking forward to Kaspr becoming a part of Cognism, and we’re working with the Kaspr team to plan and coordinate all go-to-market activities. We will merge Kaspr’s data into Cognism products as soon as possible, which will provide nearly 30% more mobile coverage in key markets.”

Allan Benguigui, Founder and CEO of Kaspr, adds: “We will launch in six new countries – before September – with the aim of further strengthening our group’s European ownership.”

Along with the stats above, friendly Kaspr has a contact database of over 160 million contacts with email and 30 million with mobile phone numbers across France, UK, US, Germany and Spain.

Kaspr’s main product is a Chrome Extension which integrates into LinkedIn and offers a sales automation enrichment tool, a list builder and an API for custom development.

B2B sales intelligence provider Cognism is making progress. Earlier this year, the company received $87.5 million (£64 million) in funding led by new investor Viking Global Investors.

In 2021, Cognism opened a US office in Boston, led by new VP Sales, Mark Bedard, previously of ZoomInfo, and appointed Phil Garlick to its board of directors.

The year saw the company launch Diamond Data, which provides GDPR & CCPA compliant phone-verified contacts for business development teams.

Cognism also formed a partnership with Bombora to provide intent data within the latest version of Cognism’s platform. This enables sales and marketing teams to identify the accounts that are actively in the market and ready to buy. FY2021 saw the company report 100% ARR growth.

The firm provides sales intelligence for revenue teams in over 1,000 companies worldwide. Prior to the Kaspr acquisition, its workforce included over 250 employees based in seven countries including the UK, US, Canada, South Africa, Croatia, Macedonia and Germany.
