Netacea Nets US Cybersecurity Deal with AVANT

The tech firm's American dream is alive and kicking as IT decision-making platform AVANT will use its bot management solution.

Manchester-based bot detection and mitigation firm Netacea has picked up a cybersecurity deal with US company AVANT.

Netacea, which recently featured in our tech companies in Manchester to watch, says IT decision-making platform AVANT will use its bot management solution. AVANT specialises in technology and infrastructure consulting, solution selection and service implementation.

The idea is for Chicago-based AVANT to provide its network of advisors with a way to combat the malicious world of security threats. As an AVANT supplier, Netacea will also join the company’s Security Council.

Shane McNamara, EVP of Operations & Engineering at AVANT, explains: “With Netacea, Trusted Advisors can protect their websites, mobile apps and APIs from automated threats using its bot management Intent Analytics engine, decreasing the potential of falling victim to bad actors and their illegal schemes.”

Netacea launched in North America in January 2022.

Notable Netacea clients include Sony, MalwareBytes and Pets at Home. In February, the firm received £9 million in Series A funding. Jeremy Gidlow, CEO and Co-Founder, Netacea, said at the time that the company would continue to push into the US market. It seems he was right.

The tech firm was founded in 2018. It detects and mitigates against bot attacks that target mobile, website and API applications. It uses threat intelligence and machine learning in near real-time.

The firm says its agentless approach does not require code to be inserted on customers’ web pages, allowing it to stay hidden from attackers while also protecting mobile apps and APIs.

Half of Netacea’s sales team is based in the US and in February it said plans were in place for this proportion to grow. It will also expand its technical team, specifically in development, data science, data analysis and threat research.
