Things are far from gloomy as New York-based Vialto Partners has chosen Certino’s cloud-based SaaS platform to help its clients with taxes.
Certino, which is headquartered in London, calls it an SPaaS (Shadow Payroll as a Service) solution, and it works through its web application, API integration or as a standalone solution.
The details aren’t hidden in the shadows, as the UK tech firm explains that shadow payroll enables employers to meet host country payroll tax payments and reporting obligations when their employees are working abroad.
Its blog points out that it does this by replicating or “shadowing” the home payroll compensation reporting. Certino reckons companies are sending an increasing number of employees overseas for various reasons – such as improving customer sales, service and growth. Gone are the days when a person would work and live in their hometown for the rest of their life.

Richard McBride, CEO of Certino, comments: “To be chosen as the first and only shadow payroll provider to Vialto is a huge compliment to our team and our product. Our goal is to bring unrivalled accuracy and speed to Vialto’s new business and we look forward to delivering an enhanced customer experience to all current and future clients.”
According to Certino, it covers 93 jurisdictions and its back-end technology ensures that no client data resides on the platform, “enabling Vialto to retain full control of sensitive client information”.
In May, Vialto formally announced the completion of its sale from PwC to funds affiliated with Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.
Vialto provides integrated solutions supporting global workforce mobility, including immigration, tax, managed services and digital solutions. It offers compliance, consulting and technology services to multinational corporations.
Certino was founded in 2017 and also has locations in Zürich and Houston. Siemens GMS Tax is a notable client listed on its website.
