ClearCustoms Comes Calling with Customs Declarations Software Launch

“The customs clearance process imposes huge costs on UK businesses, and alongside changing Brexit regulations, the financial strain becomes more impactful.”

Startup ClearCustoms has made its entry onto the UK’s tech scene to offer software for the customs declarations process.

With Brexit on its mind, ClearCustoms is clear about what it can do and provides a SaaS platform for UK companies and customs agents to electronically file customs declarations.

The software provider explains: “Whether you are a large multinational corporation, a small company, or an individual, a customs declaration is required for all goods imported into the UK customs area across international borders.

A lot of tech startups in the UK are looking to bring a digital touch to something that they believe needs an overhaul.

London-based ClearCustoms is aiming to make profit by focusing on the import and export trade. It reckons it can cut out a third-party agent or middleman/woman in this specific market.

The site explains a variety of features. For instance, users can directly submit import declarations to HRMC and they can categorise products via commodity codes lookup.

In addition, ClearCustoms says it offers automated communication with CSP’s IT systems and a real-time compliance engine. The company notes that there is no need to download any software or templates.

While ClearCustoms is very new, the brains behind the venture is not. The London-based startup is the creation of Adnan Zaheer, with over 20 years’ experience in tech and business.

He is the founder of data privacy & consent management firm Seers and was also a founding member of Smart Pension, which went on to become “the second-largest pension auto-enrolment company in the UK”.
