DNA Payments Buys First Payment Merchant Services in Surrey

Following its £100 million fundraise from Alchemy Partners in 2021, DNA has made its seventh acquisition.

It’s all happening for DNA Payments with the acquisition of Surrey-based First Payment Merchant Services (FPMS) for an undisclosed amount.

Following its £100 million fundraise from Alchemy Partners in 2021, DNA has made its seventh acquisition.

In fact, DNA seems to be like one of those Monopoly players who buys everything they land on. As reported earlier this month, DNA said it was acquiring Peterborough-based payment solutions provider Kwalitas.

FPMS was launched in 2011 and has more than 10,000 customers across the UK. It facilitates around 400 million transactions per year for SMEs and larger customers. The fintech company also has an office in Nottingham.

FPMS has 59 employees listed on LinkedIn and it seems jobs are safe.

Arif Babayev, Co-Founder of DNA Payments, explains: “It’s great to have Vicki [Kelson, MD of FPMS] and the amazing FPMS team as part of DNA Payments’ family.”

DNA was founded in 2017 and has over 150 employees. Companies within the group include 123Send, Active Payments, Optomany and Zash AB. It has its headquarters in London and an operations hub in Kent.

Its solutions include POS terminals, gateway integrations, custom online payment services, and card payments to Pay by Link, Pay by Bank app and PayPal. DNA offers cloud-based payment processing capabilities, and also provides a variety of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions to acquirers and payment schemes.

According to DNA, its estate includes 70,000+ POS terminals, 45,000+ merchants and over 17 million transactions per month.
