Cloud and digital services provider Kerv is full of verve as it has completed its acquisition of networking and SD-WAN integrator Gyrocom.
The acquisition amount was not disclosed. London-based Kerv says in addition to SD-WAN, the deal brings in skills in managed networks and network security, including secure access service edge (SASE).
Gyrocom, which is headquartered in Surrey, will operate as Kerv’s specialist networking and security division.
Alastair Mills, Executive Chairman of Kerv, explains that Gyrocom’s “growth trajectory and ability to win major network transformation contracts are testament to their capabilities and their product-market fit”.
Graham Brown, Managing Director of Gyrocom, adds: “When Kerv approached us we weren’t looking to sell but in getting to know the team over the course of this year, we saw the potential for an excellent fit, both strategically and culturally.”
Gyrocom has 31 employees listed on LinkedIn. It was founded in 2006 by Brown and Ryan Coombes, who had worked together previously at Nortel Networks. Fellow director Jane Hamlyn joined the company in 2011.
The company has technology relationships with VMware Velocloud, Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Versa and Z-Scaler. It also has a presence in the retail market with brands such as Kingfisher (B&Q and Screwfix), Wickes and Co-op. Gyrocom has 23 enterprise customers and its recurring revenues are growing at over 20%.
According to Kerv, it is now a £50 million revenue company with 400+ employees and 750 public and private sector mid-market customers including Investec, Kiwi.com, The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, The Scouts Association, Harrods, Avarto and The Local Government Ombudsman.
Launched in July 2020 with private equity backing from LDC, the Kerv “merger” is led by Mills, Six Degrees founder and former CEO, and Mike Ing, former COO at Six Degrees.
Kerv combines five cloud-based managed services businesses to offer IT managed services, unified communications, contact centre, security and compliance applications.
The five companies are DoubleEdge Professional Services (UC, voice, data, mobility and compliance); Foehn (R&D team, cloud UC and contact centre provider); Metaphor IT (cloud services, digital workspaces and IT managed services); UCNS Managed IT (design of IT support services for both public and private sectors); and cloudThing (digital transformation, Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform).
Along with central London, Kerv has offices in Greater London, Birmingham and India.
